REFLECTION ON BCVS-I AND II

The Hook: My Expectations

When I first joined the BCVS course, I thought it would only focus on grammar, email writing, and some basic communication rules. I expected it to be a simple theory subject where we would only learn from books. But after attending the classes and lab sessions, I realized that the course was much more practical and interesting than I expected. The activities, presentations, and interactions with classmates made the learning process more engaging. It helped me understand that communication is an important skill not only in academics but also in everyday life.

The Core: What I Learned

Through this course, I learned many important communication skills. One of the main things I learned was how to express my ideas clearly and confidently. I understood that communication is not just about speaking, but also about how we present ourselves through body language, eye contact, and tone of voice.

The course also helped me improve my professional writing skills. I learned how to write formal emails and letters properly, which is an important skill for future jobs and professional environments.

Another important learning from this course was public speaking and presentation skills. In the beginning, I felt nervous when speaking in front of the class. But after participating in speeches and presentations, I slowly became more comfortable and confident. These activities helped me overcome my stage fear.

I also learned the importance of listening skills and teamwork. Good communication is not only about speaking but also about listening carefully to others and understanding their ideas.

Personal Highlight

My favorite activity during the BCVS lab sessions was the poster presentation about my favorite sportsperson. It was a creative and enjoyable activity. I had to research about the sportsperson, their achievements, and their journey. While making the poster, I learned many new things about their hard work and dedication.

Presenting the poster in front of the class was a great experience. It helped me improve my confidence and communication skills. Even though I was a little nervous at first, I felt proud after completing the presentation. This activity was both fun and educational, and it became one of the most memorable moments of the course for me.

Conclusion

Overall, the BCVS course was a very valuable learning experience for me. It helped me improve my communication skills, confidence, and ability to present my ideas clearly. The course also encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and try new things.

I believe the skills I learned in this course will help me not only in my future studies but also in my professional career and personal life. I am grateful for this experience and look forward to improving my communication skills even more in the future.
